Iván Núñez del Prado is a distinguished Andean spiritual teacher, coach, and industrial engineer, deeply rooted in the ancient spiritual tradition of the Andes, known as Kausaypuriy.

Professional Profile

Born in Cusco in 1972, Iván is the son of renowned anthropologists and archaeologists, Juan Núñez del Prado and Lida Murillo. 

With over four decades of practice and teachings in Andean spirituality, he is recognized as one of the most experienced Paqos (Andean spiritual leaders) of his generation. Iván has dedicated his life to sharing and expanding the Andean spiritual tradition worldwide, conducting workshops, initiations, and seminars across the globe.

  • Facilitates spiritual practices, ceremonies, and initiations, helping individuals to deepen their connection with Andean cosmology and consciousness.
  • Conducted over 40 years of practice in Kausaypuriy, leading groups worldwide, including in countries such as Italy, Greece, the USA, Argentina, Spain, and the Netherlands.
  • Developed and led international seminars, such as Hatun Karpay in locations like Tuscany (Italy), Mount Shasta (USA), and Glastonbury (UK).

Spiritual Training & Initiations

First Spiritual Initiation (1979)

  • At age 7, Iván participated in the Qoylloriti Festival, one of Peru’s most significant religious traditions, marking his introduction to Andean spiritual practices.

Training with Juan Núñez del Prado (1979 – 1990)

  • Iván received training in the first three levels of Andean spiritual tradition: Ayllu PaqoLlaqta Paqo, and Suyu Paqo from his father, Juan Núñez del Prado.

Hatun Karpay (1991)

  • In 1991, Iván was initiated by his father, Juan Núñez del Prado, into the Hatun Karpay at the fourth level of consciousness, receiving the title of Altomisayoq (Grand Master) in the Q’ero lineage of the Andes.

Initiation with Tata Lorenzo (1992)

  • Complementary training in the Andean Kausaypuriy tradition was received under the guidance of Tata Lorenzo, a Yatiri (Andean spiritual leader) from the Qayawaya tradition of Bolivia.

Intercultural Exchange (1993)

  • Organized and participated in the first meeting between Andean and Tibetan Buddhist traditions, facilitating an exchange of spiritual practices and initiations.

Further Initiations and Teachings

  • Throughout the years, Iván received further initiations from Andean masters such as Don Mariano Apaza and Don Juan Ordoñez, and practiced with multiple teachers from the Q’ero and Ausangate traditions.
  • Initiated into the Karpay Ayni (reciprocal initiation) by Don Mariano Apaza and completed advanced spiritual training with him for over 13 years.
